During her tenure as Chief of Staff to Mayor Betsy Price, Mattie served as the go-to leader to improve efficiency at City Hall and develop innovative cost-saving measures to save tax dollars. SAFER NEIGHBORHOODS WITH WELL-FUNDED POLICE SERVICES
Mattie supports strong police and fire services and pushes back against any efforts to defund our police force. Her commitment to supporting strong police and fire services while making Fort Worth cleaner and safer has resulted in additional sworn officers and firefighters, dedicated support to Neighborhood Patrol and Crisis Intervention teams, as well as additional street sweepers, litter abatement crews, and historic investments to create housing for the homeless.
GROWING OUR ECONOMY THROUGH INNOVATION
As Mayor, Mattie restructured City Council committees to strengthen entrepreneurship and innovation in Fort Worth, and helped lead the passage of a $560 million bond to fund capital projects in neighborhoods and business districts.

Mattie has prioritized the growth and accessibility of Fort Worth parks by working with organizations like the Trust for Public Land and overseeing city projects like the Open Space Acquisitions Program and the Urban Forest Master Plan. She will ensure all Fort Worth residents have easy access to our expanding parks system and grow the overall health and beauty of our city’s green spaces.
